Summary

An all-ages service project sorting clothing donations in the Clothing Shop at Waukesha’s Hope Center

Description

We will be helping sort clothing donations at the Hope Center in Waukesha. Once sorted, we will hang items in the correct locations in the Clothing Shop, enabling those in need to experience an organized shopping experience at no cost to them.

Activities

Families will be sorting clothing donations, selecting gently used items, and hanging them in the correct location in the clothing shop. Kids of all ages can work together with their families to organize Hope Center’s clothing shop so that clients can find the items they need.

Impact

Kids will put their energy and sorting skills to good use, helping to organize and display clothing items for Hope House’s Clothing Shop. Families will experience the joy of volunteering together as kids learn that they are capable of making a big difference!

Our Partner

The Hope Center is a non-profit organization that has been serving the basic needs of financial assistance, food, and clothing in Waukesha County for more than thirty years.  The Clothing Shop program has helped tens of thousands of people to obtain free quality clothing because of generous donations. The Clothing Shop offers everyday clothing for all ages and even a section devoted to career-type clothing. Residents of Waukesha County who are in low, to low-middle income levels, are able to select clothes at no charge. In 2018, there were 33,529 shopping visits to the Clothing Shop. They received 236,406 articles of donated clothing, and those not used were passed onto a third-world ministry. Each article of clothing obtained from Hope Center allowed guests to put more money towards their housing needs.
