Be an Art & Chalk Fest Helper @ MOWA!

Description
MOWA’s annual Art & Chalk Fest offers this FREE, outdoor, live arts festival that features artists from the Wisconsin arts community. Families can experience chalk artists creating large-scale works of chalk art right before their eyes, watch a glass-blowing demo in a mobile hot shop, or get a caricature drawing of yourself or see clay sculpted into handmade vessels on a pottery wheel all while listening to live music. There is also an Activity Zone to participate in Chalk the Street and the opportunity to get creative with hands-on art projects. 

Come volunteer during a shift on Saturday, August 17th or Sunday, August 18th, get a FREE Art & Chalk Fest t-shirt and stay for the fun before and/or after your shift! A fabulous way to spend a family summer day!

Activities

Specifically, MOWA needs our help with the following jobs: 

1) Festival Greeter - hang out at the entrance and greet people as they enter the festival, hand out a brochure and point people in the right direction 

2) Raffle Tent Helper - selling raffle tickets, telling people to write name/phone number on the tickets

3) Family Activity Area Helper - encourage and help families start hands-on art activities and refill art supplies as needed

4) Museum Greeter (inside) - use an attendance clicker to track number of people entering the museum, hand out bookmarks and welcome visitors inside the museum

Please indicate your job and shift preference in the registration form. We also ask that you choose your shirt size in the registration form. You will receive an email from lynn@kicmke.org confirming your job and shift about a month prior to the event.

Impact

Kids will get to use their time and love to support our partner organization (Museum of Wisconsin Art) to spread an appreciation and passion for American Art in our beautiful state of Wisconsin - all while having a fun time at the Art & Chalk Fest!

Registration Information

Participant Cap: 20 families

Age: All ages are welcome and encouraged to help! 

Cost: FREE

Materials: Please wear weather-appropriate, comfortable shoes and clothes. A free t-shirt will be provided!

Cancellations: We count on our registered volunteers to make these projects come to life. However, we understand illness and emergencies do come up so if you can no longer participate, please email lynn@kicmke.org ASAP so we can fill your spot.
