December Meal Service at St. Vincent de Paul

Monthly meals are back! KIC families will have the opportunity to prepare and serve over 100 in-person meals for adult and children guests of St. Vincent De Paul - Harambee. We will work together to prepare the meals prior to guest arrival and serve the meals upon arrival of the guests in the basement of  All Peoples Church in the Harambee neighborhood of Milwaukee. St. Vincent De Paul meal program provides meals throughout the year, and dinners are provided by various charitable organizations 5 nights a week. KIC is thrilled to be back at SVDP - where we served monthly prior to March 2020.

PURPOSE: Preparing the dining room and serving food for individuals living with food insecurity. Children will serve and act with compassion towards others.
 
IMPACT: Children and their caregivers will serve a healthy meal for guests of the St. Vincent De Paul Meal Program.
 
ACTIVITIES: Hairnets, gloves, and aprons are required and provided at the event. If your family would like to bring their own aprons and baseball caps, you are welcome to do that. Please wear a well-fitting face covering during your time at the site.

• Set out tacos, condiments, rice, beans, fruit and cookies.

• Handout the meals to dinner guests at All Peoples Church.

• Serve drinks throughout the dining experience.

• Basic clean up (sweeping, wiping down tables, etc) at meal site post-meal service.

PARTICIPANT CAP:  We are looking for 20 participants to serve at All Peoples Church.
 
AGE: All Ages. 
 
COST: FREE. Please consider a donation to KIC to help cover the cost of the food.
