Dispense Food Outreach Bags at the Domes

In Wisconsin, 1 in 10 households are struggling with hunger, impacting people of all ages from children to older adults. Food pantries across Wisconsin continue to report increased demand alongside lower-stocked shelves and increasing food prices continue due to inflation. 

Just One More Ministry, located in Glendale, is an organization that rescues excess food from area restaurants, food suppliers and caterers and redistributes it to over 90 shelters, food pantries and more than 6,000 community members in need every week. We have been packing lunches monthly for Just One More Ministry for the past six years. We are excited to invite your kids to see another aspect of their work.

Activities

A Just One More Ministry truck filled with pallets of outreach bags will be stationed in the back parking lot at the Mitchell Park Domes. Your family will be grabbing food items from the pallets and delivering them to cars in an organized fashion, supporting more than 200 families facing food insecurity. 

Impact

Our kids will have the opportunity to share a smile alongside critical nourishment to Milwaukee neighbors while growing in awareness of their capability to help others when the community needs it most.

Registration Information

Participant Cap: 14 volunteers

Age: All ages. We will be delivering outreach bags to lines of cars. Please be sure that your children understand how to stay safe around cars. A one-to-one adult/child ratio is recommended pending the age range of your kids.

Cost: Free

Materials: Dress for the weather and wear sunscreen as you will be outside.
